Categories

Define the taxonomy for your suppliers and set the baseline risk for each category. Add country-specific rules where needed.

What you can do

  • Create and rename categories.
  • Assign a Risk level to each category (your baseline).
  • Add country-specific rules to override the baseline in selected countries.

Who can do this?

  • Viewer: read-only
  • Writer/Admin: create, edit, delete

Create or edit a category (step-by-step)

  1. Go to Categories: /o/:organizationId/categories
  2. Click “New category” or edit an existing one
  3. Fill in:
    • Code: short identifier (e.g., TEXTILE)
    • Name: human-friendly label
    • Description: optional context
    • Risk level: choose from your org’s risk scale
  4. Save

Tip: Keep codes consistent—changing them later can affect lookups.

Set country-specific risk rules

Use rules to say “For this category, in these countries, the risk is X”.

How to:

  1. Open a category
  2. Go to the Risk rules section
  3. Click “Add rule” and set:
    • Target risk level
    • Countries (one or many)
    • Active flag and optional validity dates
    • Notes (optional)
  4. Save

Effect: suppliers with this category and one of those countries will show the target risk instead of the baseline.

Where this shows up

  • Supplier list: the risk badge reflects category baseline and any applicable country rule.
  • Segments: you can target by category and, indirectly, by risk signals.

Troubleshooting

  • I don’t see my risk levels: make sure an Admin created them under Settings → Risk levels.
  • A rule doesn’t seem to apply: check the supplier’s Primary country and the rule’s Active/validity dates.
